Michelle Marques Rhia

Michelle Marques RHIA has over 25 years of work experience in revenue cycle operations and health information management. Michelle currently serves as the Executive Director Revenue Cycle at Emerson Hospital, where they provide direction and oversees all hospital revenue cycle operations. Previously, they held the position of Director, Patient Access & Revenue Cycle Services at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, where they ensured department outcomes exceeded industry standards. Michelle has also worked as the Director of Revenue Cycle at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth, where they managed revenue cycle operations, coding functions, and training across three community hospitals. Michelle has experience in finance and operations management as a Manager at Massachusetts General Hospital, where they implemented Epic scheduling and revenue cycle systems and developed annual revenue budgets. Michelle has also held various roles at Cape Cod Healthcare, Massachusetts General Physicians Organization, Massachusetts Eye and Ear, and Brigham and Women's Hospital, where they gained expertise in billing, appeals, registration, and customer service. Throughout their career, Michelle has demonstrated a commitment to improving financial outcomes and ensuring compliance in the healthcare industry.

Michelle Marques RHIA obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Health Information Management from Fisher College in the years 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they earned an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Health Information/Medical Records Technology/Technician from the same college from 2013 to 2015. In 1995 to 1997, Michelle also completed an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Physical Therapy Technician/Assistant from Fisher College.

In terms of certifications, Michelle obtained the Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA®) certification from AHIMA in 2018. Michelle also holds the Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification from AHIMA, which they obtained in June 2015. Additionally, Michelle has completed the Chargemaster Toolkit Bronze Certification Program from Craneware, although the specific date of completion is not provided.
