John Vakiner

John Vakiner is an experienced operations and engineering professional with a focus on optics fabrication and manufacturing management. Currently retired from EMF, John held the position of Director of Operations and Engineering from April 2012. Prior to this, John served as NIR Manufacturing Manager at VLOC, overseeing fabrication and assembly functions for NIR optics and crystals, managing a diverse team across multiple geographic locations. At II-VI Incorporated, John was the Optics Fabrication Business Unit Manager, where responsibilities included directing conventional optics fabrication. Earlier in their career, John worked as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at II-VI, focusing on process engineering and method improvements, and as a Process Engineer at Texas Instruments. John earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1982.
