Himali Saitwal is a clinical informaticist, a terminologist, and a clinical quality measure specialist with expertise in Electronic Health Records (EHR), Health Information Exchange (HIE), and value sets authoring for Meaningful Use. Himali’s passion to work on state-of-the-art informatics projects led her to contribute and deliver multiple data standardization and state-level HIE projects for NCS, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), CHA, and Indiana Health Information Exchange (IHIE). Himali has participated in value set authoring for NCQA and its inclusion in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) EHR incentive program and has led agile data standardization efforts between the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). Himali’s graduate research work on EHR Usability Analysis and Cross-terminology Mapping Challenges is published in renowned informatics journals and has been widely used in the informatics community for over a decade with 100 plus citations for which she was nominated as an American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) student paper finalist in 2009.

Himali resides in Houston, TX with her husband and two kids (12 years and 8 years old sons). She is passionate about kids' studies and community service. Himali's hobbies include gardening, cooking, dancing and traveling.
