Karen Bertodatti is a senior health manager at EMI Advisors, where she manages projects that use health data and technology to move the needle on care coordination, interoperability, and social determinants of health. Ever the pragmatic optimist working to improve health outcomes, Karen applies her versatile experience in advisory and communications consulting, client service, and project management to solve business and public health challenges.
Before joining EMI, Karen served as Deputy North America Health Practice Lead at APCO Worldwide and partnered with various health clients to achieve their objectives in strategic communications, public affairs, product launch, stakeholder engagement, thought leadership platforms, and advocacy campaigns. Previously, she was a product manager responsible for roadmap planning and execution of a nonprofit-powered web application that connects nonprofits with skilled volunteers who share their expertise pro bono. Karen also worked at a boutique consultancy specializing in health strategy and leadership for corporate and global NGO clients. Her projects included narrative development for Roll Back Malaria, an Alzheimer’s documentary rollout strategy for Mirabel Pictures, an Ebola crisis global communications plan for the United Nations, and strategic recommendations to reduce medically unnecessary length of stay days for a Veterans Affairs medical center.
Karen holds a master’s degree in public health from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and a bachelor’s degree from the Macaulay Honors College at CUNY Hunter College. She lives in NYC with her husband and son.
