Established by decree in December 2009 by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) represents all aspects of the UAE Peaceful Nuclear Energy Program. Through its flagship Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant, abundant safe, clean and reliable electricity is being supplied to the UAE grid, supporting the Nation’s social and economic growth, and spearheading decarbonization to tackle climate change. ENEC is part of ADQ, one of the region’s largest holding companies with a broad portfolio of major enterprises spanning key sectors of Abu Dhabi’s diversified economy. تأسست مؤسسة الإمارات للطاقة النووية بموجب المرسوم الصادر في ديسمبر 2009 عن صاحب السمو الشيخ خليفة بن زايد آل نهيان، رئيس دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة. وتتولّى المؤسسة تمثيل كافة جوانب البرنامج النووي السلمي الإماراتي. تعمل المؤسسة على توفير الطاقة الكهربائية الآمنة والموثوقة والصديقة للبيئة السلمية ضمن شبكة الكهرباء الرئيسية في الدولة من خلال محطة براكة للطاقة النووية، بما يدعم النمو الاقتصادي والاجتماعي، ويساهم في الحد من الانبعاثات الكربونية لمواجهة ظاهرة التغير المناخي. مؤسسة الإمارات للطاقة النووية هي شركة تابعة لـ"أبوظبي القابضة" (ADQ)، التي تعد واحدة من أكبر الشركات القابضة على مستوى المنطقة، والتي تمتلك محفظة واسعة من المؤسسات الكبرى العاملة في قطاعات رئيسية ضمن اقتصاد إمارة أبوظبي المتنوع.
