Richard Miller has extensive work experience in the steel industry. Richard currently serves as the Project Director for Emirates Steel Arkan, where they are involved in the development of a low carbon dioxide emission iron hub in Mussafah, UAE, in collaboration with Itochu Corporation in Japan. This project aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in Japan by producing high carbon iron with the lowest embedded carbon dioxide level in the world. Prior to their current role, Richard worked as the General Manager for Egyptian Steel and as the Director for RMInnovation Limited. Richard also served as the Business Development Manager for Emirates Steel Industries and as a Project Manager for Atkins, where they were responsible for delivering the Emirates Steel Phase 1 Integrated Steel Plant Development.
Richard Miller has a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Newcastle Polytechnic, as well as a Bachelors with Honours in Mechanical Engineering from Northumbria University and an Honours B.Eng degree from Newcatle-Upon-Tyne. Richard also holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Innovation and Technology from The Open University, and a Masters in Business Administration in Business Management incorporating Management of Technology & Environment from Open University UK.
