Brian Katzowitz

Associate Vice President For Health Science Communications at Emory University

Brian Katzowitz, M.S., serves as the Associate Vice President for Health Science Communications and Senior Director of Health Communications and Media Relations at Emory University since July 2022. Prior to this role, Katzowitz worked at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from November 2012 to July 2022 as a Health Communications Specialist, where responsibilities included leading public affairs for the Division of Foodborne, Waterborne, and Environmental Diseases and managing media relations during the Zika outbreak in Puerto Rico. Previous experience includes positions at the Arthritis Foundation, United States Postal Service, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and A. Brown-Olmstead Associates, with a focus on health communication, community outreach, and media relations. Katzowitz holds a Master's degree in Health Promotion Management from American University and a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations from The University of Georgia.
