Jiafeng Geng

Jiafeng (Jeff) Geng, PhD, JD, currently serves as the Sr. Director of Intellectual Property and Research Programs at Emory University since July 2020, where responsibilities include managing the research operations of the Liotta Research Group and leading patent strategies for its pharmaceutical assets. The role encompasses drafting and managing a substantial patent portfolio, liaising with external patent counsels, and facilitating business development. Geng also holds a position as a Senior Venture Advisor at Pier 70 Ventures and has experience in patent litigation and prosecution from a brief tenure at Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP. Geng's prior work includes roles as a Scientific Advisor at Pabst Patent Group LLP, where expertise in biotech and pharmaceutical intellectual property was developed, and postdoctoral research at Georgia Tech focusing on drug-biomacromolecule interactions. Geng's educational background includes a JD in Intellectual Property Law from UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law and a PhD in Biochemistry from Georgia State University.
