Mary Anne Bobinski

Dean, School of Law at Emory University

Mary Anne Bobinski is the current Dean of the School of Law at Emory University. Mary has also previously served as the Director of the Health Law & Policy Institute at the University of Houston Law Center from January 1989 to May 2003. In this role, they were responsible for externally funded research projects carried out for the Texas Legislature, the development of the health law curriculum, publications, service projects, and governmental relations. The Institute had a budget of over $600,000 per year and coordinated thirty courses taken by approximately 500 J.D. and LL.M. students annually.

Bobinski has also served as a faculty member at the Peter A. Allard School of Law at UBC, where they taught courses in health law, torts, and administrative law. Mary has also been a visiting professor at a number of other law schools, including the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and Osgoode Hall Law School.

Bobinski is a graduate of Queen's University Faculty of Law and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1985. Mary has also been awarded a number of honorary degrees, including an LL.D. from the University of Toronto in 2014 and an LLD from Queen's University in 2015.

Mary Anne Bobinski studied psychology as an undergraduate at the State University of New York College at Buffalo. Mary then went on to earn their JD from the same school. After working as a lawyer for a few years, they decided to pursue an LLM at Harvard Law School.

Their manager is Jan Love, Interim Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dean of Candler School of Theology. Mary Anne Bobinski works with Gareth James - Dean, Goizueta Business School, John Leach - Associate Vice Provost for Enrollment and University Financial Aid, and Linda A. McCauley - Dean, Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing.
