Kathy Rabon

CPO, Suncoast Hospice Foundation at Empath Health

Kathy Rabon, CFRE, CFRM, is Chief Philanthropy Officer for Legacy Empath Health and Executive Director of Suncoast Hospice Foundation. Kathy oversees all contributed revenue sources in support of the agency’s hospice, HIV/STI support services, PACE and Adult Day Care, palliative care, grief services, community health, and home health. She provides leadership for major and planned gifts, corporate sponsorships, grants, events, resale stores, and community needs assessments for Empath Health. Kathy has more than 25 years of Tampa Bay Area fundraising experience including Executive Director of the Performing Arts Center Foundation at Ruth Eckerd Hall and Deputy Director of Development for the Salvador Dali Museum. Kathy is a Certified Fundraising Executive from the Association of Fundraising Professionals, is certified in Fundraising Management from the Lily Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University, and in Organizational Development from the University of Georgia. Kathy is a past board member of the Association of Fundraising International Board of Directors and was one of five professional women selected by AFP to serve as mentors of the inaugural Women’s Impact Initiative cohort. She serves as President-Elect of the AFP Tampa Bay chapter and served on the Association of Junior Leagues, International (AJLI) Board of Directors for nine years. Kathy’s local volunteer service includes past president, Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin; past president, Leadership Pinellas; board member, Leadership Tampa Bay; and the St. Petersburg College Board of Advisors.
