John Phillips

John joined Empire Express in October 2014 as Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for all Sales, Marketing, Recruiting, Operations, IT and Quality in the company.

John’s background includes experience in Operations Management and Finance, having held various leadership positions at FedEx and International Paper. He worked part time at Empire in the Dedicated Division, while he was in college. He holds a master’s degree from the University of Mississippi.

John is an action-oriented, servant leader who understands and values the core principles of Empire Express as stated in our Quality Policy and Mission Statement.

John is an avid outdoorsman and lives in Germantown, TN with wife Laurie, son Trip and daughter Emmie.
