Tim Gatlin

Tim joined the company in January 1989. He was named president and chief executive officer in March of the same year. He purchased one-half of the company stock from Ed Gatlin in September 1994.

Prior to joining Empire Express, Tim served as a lending officer with Trustmark Bank in Columbus, Mississippi. He holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Mississippi.

Mr. Gatlin provides our company strong leadership, managerial, financial and analytical skills and has been instrumental in developing a company culture that emphasizes service excellence, safety, continuous improvement and the philosophy of treating people right.

Tim has led the company’s quality process, constantly monitors service and safety performance and assures the organization meets and exceeds each customer’s service standards.
