Julie Cayo, AICP has a strong background in urban planning and workforce development. Julie has held various roles throughout their career, including Chief Planning Officer at Employ Milwaukee, where they led teams in business services, compliance, and fund development. Prior to that, they served as Vice President of Strategic Planning and Performance at Employ Milwaukee. Julie also worked as Director of Research and Planning, where they developed workforce planning initiatives and provided leadership on workforce policy and market trends. Additionally, they have experience as Manager of Policy and Fund Development, where they supervised the Planning Department and forged economic development partnerships. Before joining Employ Milwaukee, Julie served as Executive Director - Redevelopment Authority at the City of West Bend, where they led a board and oversaw redevelopment projects. Julie also worked as a Community Development Planner, managing downtown redevelopment projects. Julie began their career as a Planner at the City of Kenosha.

Julie Cayo, AICP has a Master's degree in Urban Planning from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, which they obtained between 1996 and 1998. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay between 1992 and 1996. In terms of additional certifications, they have an EMSI Certification from EMSI, which they obtained in May 2015. Julie Cayo is also a member of the American Planning Association and holds the American Institute of Certified Planners designation.
