Derek Jeremias

Chief Architect at Emporos Systems Corporation

Derek Jeremias has a strong background in technology and engineering, with experience in various leadership roles. Derek is currently working as the Chief Architect at Emporos since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at SessionM from 2014, starting as the Chief Technology Officer (LoyalTree) and later transitioning to the role of Vice President of Engineering (SessionM). At SessionM, they led the integration of LoyalTree and SessionM solutions following the acquisition of LoyalTree. Derek also played a crucial role in rebuilding the product and team at LoyalTree, defining a new technology vision, and maximizing revenue to position the company for acquisition.

Before SessionM, Derek served as the Vice President of Research and Development at Directworks from 2011 to 2014. Derek was credited with building a configurable workflow engine for the company's flagship product and developed a solution based on Big Data that enabled the delivery of custom supply chain management processes. Derek assembled an R&D team from scratch, hiring experts in various core areas.

From 2005 to 2011, Derek worked at Lightfoot, Inc. as the Director of Research and Development. Here, they directed initiatives to produce autonomous robots for warehouse logistics and created real-time image processing techniques. Derek also oversaw the production of automation systems and defined architecture based on Microsoft.

Prior to Lightfoot, Derek held the position of Engineering Manager at Nokia from 2004 to 2005. Derek managed the application management capabilities of a mobile email and PIM product, leading teams in Pittsburgh, Boston, Dallas, and Helsinki.

Derek's career started at FreeMarkets in 2002, where they worked as a Software Architect. Here, they reinforced the integrity of the systems architecture and collaborated with product analysts and senior leadership to integrate business goals into development efforts. FreeMarkets is now known as SAP Ariba.

In the early years of their career, Derek worked at Phoenix International as Assistant Vice President of System/Lab from 1997 to 2000. This position provided him with valuable experience in system and laboratory management.

Derek Jeremias obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from the University of Central Florida, where they attended from 1990 to 1995.
