Louay Ghonaym

Louay Ghonaym has a diverse work experience in the engineering field. Louay is currently working as the Director of Engineering & Facilities at Empower Pharmacy. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Engineering and Facilities at the University of Iowa Pharmaceuticals from 2019-2023. Louay also worked as a Sr. Manufacturing Process Engineer at NorthStar Medical Radioisotopes, LLC from 2017-2019 and as an Advanced Product Development Engineer at Aspen Surgical from 2016-2017. In addition, Louay worked at GE Healthcare as a Process Engineer from 2010-2015, where they were involved in various projects and played a key role in process improvement and innovation. Before that, they worked as a Research and Development Engineer I at Amedica Corporation from 2008-2009, where they developed new standard operating procedures and supervised a team. Louay also had contract positions at Aerotek and Varian Medical Systems in 2007. Louay started their career as a Carbon Fiber Jr. Engineer at Hexcel Corporation from 2007-2007 and worked in Quality Assurance and Control at Huish Detergents from 2006-2007.

Louay Ghonaym earned a BS in Chemistry from the University of Utah from 2004 to 2006. Louay then pursued a BS in Chemical and Fuel Engineering from the same university from 2007 to 2009.
