Chris Mercer has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. Chris started their career in 2004 as a High School Spanish Teacher at Leadership High School, where they also served as an Advisor and Baseball Coach. Chris later became a Spanish Teacher at Richmond Public Schools in 2008. In 2008, Chris founded a non-profit organization called 3D Baseball, which aimed to teach life and leadership skills to student athletes through the game of baseball. Chris served as the Founder and Head Mentor until 2017. Chris also worked as a Book Author at TPRS Books from 2014 to 2020.

In 2018, Chris started their own coaching business called Chris Mercer Coaching, where they provided coaching services for individuals, organizations, and couples in fulfillment and life goals. Chris helped clients uncover and break through the barriers holding them back, leveraging their own resourcefulness and expertise. Chris also worked as a Solar Specialist at Sigora Solar in 2021 before joining EMPWR Solar as a Sales & Professional Development Coordinator in 2023. Lastly, they worked as a Teacher of Spanish at Trinity Episcopal School (RVA) from 2012 to 2021.

Chris Mercer earned a Bachelor's degree in History & Latin American Studies from William & Mary from 1997 to 2001. After that, from 2003 to 2005, they obtained a Teaching License in Education from San Francisco State University. In addition, Chris spent a year (1999-2000) studying History & Dominican Cultural Studies at Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra. Recently, from 2018 to 2020, they pursued additional education at the International Coach Academy, although the specifics of their degree or field of study during this time are not provided.
