Jonathan Matthews

Jonathan Matthews is an independent consultant with over 25 years of experience in the business and technology industries. Jonathan has a proven track record of developing vision, offer and solutions in electronic government, business development, and strategic consultancy.

Jonathan Matthews was recruited to introduce "business strategy" for emerging information technologies at Bull-Integris in April 1992. Jonathan quickly shifted focus from technology to consultancy and solutions, searching for immediate value from existing applications and customers. In their eight years at the company, they rose to the position of Principal Business Consultant.

In 2000, Jonathan Matthews left Bull-Integris to become an independent consultant. Jonathan has since worked on a number of high-profile projects, including the development of TV Licensing business, the editor-in-chief of consortium proposal for £500m HMC&E outsourcing contract, and the definition of management information service in outsourcing proposal to Government Department.

More recently, Jonathan Matthews has been focused on the area of electronic government. Jonathan was the solution and business architect for Norwich Connect proposal. Jonathan also revitalised the response of eight-member Post Office consortium to government.direct and Better Government initiatives as £3m pilot service - Open for Business - for 11 Government Departments, leading service design, prototyping, and development planning.

Jonathan Matthews is currently Lead Engineer at Enable, where they are responsible for developing the high-level vision for new businesses and suggesting novel ways of using technology and delivering services.

Jonathan Matthews has an MBA from the Cranfield School of Management and a MA, MEng from the University of Cambridge in Natural Science & Chemical Engineering.

Jonathan Matthews reports to Matt Sharpe, Engineering Manager. They work with Josh Yates - Engineer, Claire Smith - Engineer, and Bradley Hopkinson - Lead Engineer.
