About the role:
The Senior Accountant will be a highly visible member of the finance team responsible for handling general ledger accounting, payroll entries with allocations, record bank transactions along with weekly AP payment run processing, run depreciation and update the fixed asset roll forward, prepaid entries, assist in closing expense reports, revenue recognition and prepare corresponding deferred revenue schedules, working with international entities to review and reconcile general ledger accounts along with making adjusting entries as needed, and any close related journal entries required for month-end close. The successful candidate will build and maintain strong relationships within the finance team and department heads.
Your Day Will Consist Of:
Responsibilities:
- Verify, allocate, post and reconcile transactions
- Journal entries; bank and account reconciliations
- Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
- Cash and bank management
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Assist in annual audit
- Assist in analyzing the financials for variances and fluctuations in the P/L .
- Assist in state tax filings and recording corresponding entries.
- Assist in developing and documenting processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Other duties as assigned
Here is what it takes to be successful in the role:
Knowledge and Skills
- BS degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles including US GAAP
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
- Advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge of ERP systems – Microsoft Dynamics (highly preferred)
- Works well under timelines
- Accuracy and attention to detail
