Roy Alvarez

Roy Alvarez, CPA has extensive experience in the energy industry, with over 30 years of experience in various roles. Roy is currently the Regional Vice President of West Utility Sales at Enchanted Rock, where they focus on providing power resiliency solutions to customers. Prior to this, Roy served as the Manager of Power Origination at Platte River Power Authority, where they were responsible for energy transactions and power purchase agreements. Roy has also worked as a Consultant in Energy Supply & Resource Management, the Director of Wholesale Energy Procurement at Pacific Gas and Electric Corp., and the Vice President of West Power Trading & Origination at RBS Sempra Commodities LLP. Additionally, Roy has held roles at Shell Energy Trading, Sempra Energy Trading, and San Diego Gas & Electric, where they gained experience in areas such as trading operations, natural gas scheduling, and portfolio optimization.

Roy Alvarez, CPA has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from San Diego State University. Roy also pursued additional education in Marketing Strategy at IE Business School, Organizational Leadership at IMD, and Sales Strategies at the University of Chicago. Roy has acquired certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM) - Candidate, Certified Energy Procurement (CEP) Professional, and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Texas. Roy has also completed a course on Building Resilience offered by Sheryl Sandberg and Adam Grant through LinkedIn.
