Rangoli Aeran

Senior Scientist I at Encoded Therapeutics

Rangoli Aeran has a diverse range of work experience in the field of biotechnology. Rangoli started their career as a Project Intern at Delhi University in 2010, where they worked on the promoters of HSF-A6a and A7a of Arabidopsis thaliana. Following that, they interned at Syngene's Biology Research and Development Department in 2011.

In 2012, Rangoli worked as a Project Intern at the Department of Zoology, Delhi University. Rangoli then joined Allergan as an Intern in the Biology Discovery department in 2013, where they focused on understanding and characterizing retinal degeneration during retinal detachment. Rangoli conducted in vivo retinal detachment experiments and performed various characterization techniques such as Western Blot, RT-PCR, tissue sectioning, and immunohistochemistry.

In 2013, Rangoli also worked as a Graduate Student Researcher and a Graduate Teaching Assistant at UC Irvine. As a Graduate Student Researcher, they conducted research and performed experiments. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, they assisted in teaching Molecular Biology Laboratory to first-year Masters in Biotechnology students and provided support in an undergraduate AIDS class.

Rangoli then gained industry experience at Sangamo BioSciences as a Research Associate, where they assisted in stem cell isolation, mRNA transduction, and viral titration using Baculovirus Rapid Titer Kit.

From 2014 to 2016, they worked as a Research Associate II at Avalanche Biotechnologies, focusing on research projects related to gene therapy. Later, they joined Adverum Biotechnologies as a Senior Research Associate in 2016 and was responsible for the complete production and characterization of Adeno-associated viruses.

In 2017, Rangoli joined Casebia Therapeutics, where they initially worked as a Senior Research Associate and then as a Principal Research Associate. Rangoli'swork at Casebia involved CRISPR-Cas9 mediated in vivo genome editing for liver diseases, including Hemophilia A and Hereditary Angioedema. Rangoli played a critical role in molecular cloning, formulation, purification of lipid nanoparticles, and designing study plans for in vivo studies.

Currently, Rangoli Aeran holds the position of Senior Scientist I at Encoded Therapeutics Inc., where they utilize their expertise in gene therapy and genome editing.

Rangoli Aeran pursued their education in the field of biotechnology, focusing on both their undergraduate and graduate studies. Rangoli attended Amity Institute Of Biotechnology from 2008 to 2012, where they obtained a Bachelor of Technology (B.tech) degree. Following their undergraduate studies, they furthered their education at UC Irvine from 2012 to 2014, earning a Master of Science (MS) degree in Biotechnology. In addition to their academic achievements, Rangoli also obtained a certification in IND/CTA Preparation and Submission from UC Berkeley Extension in July 2019.
