Serena Liu

Computational Biologist II at Encoded Therapeutics

Serena Liu has extensive experience in computational biology and research. Serena began their career as a Research Assistant at Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology in 2013. Serena then moved on to Dartmouth College, where they worked as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant in various genetics and genomics courses from 2012 to 2014. Serena also gained experience as a Doctoral Student at the University of Washington, Department of Genome Sciences, where they independently designed and conducted experiments utilizing cutting-edge sequencing technologies. Serena analyzed RNA-seq and ATAC-seq datasets and optimized protocols for single-cell combinatorial indexing RNA sequencing. Serena's most recent position is as a Computational Biologist at Encoded Therapeutics Inc., where they continue to apply their expertise in computational biology.

Serena Liu completed their education history with a focus on genome sciences and genomics. Serena first attended Dartmouth College from 2010 to 2014, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biology (genetics) and Economics. Serena excelled academically, as they were named the Valedictorian of their graduating class and was also inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.

After their undergraduate studies, Serena pursued further education at the University of Washington from 2014 to 2020. During this period, they successfully completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Genome Sciences/Genomics. Serena'sresearch and studies in this field further enhanced their expertise.

Additionally, Serena obtained an Advanced Data Science Certificate from the University of Washington in June 2020. This certification showcases their proficiency in the field of data science.
