Benjamin Botor

Mathematical Modeler at encoord

Benjamin obtained his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Industrial Engineering from the University of Duisburg-Essen. Before encoord, he participated in a pre-university voluntary scientific year working at the Joint Research Institute of AudioNeuroTechnology (VIANNA) of the Medical University Hannover (MHH). He later held internships in Germany at PwC, Fraunhofer UMSICHT, in the US at NREL, and in China at GIZ and worked at the University of Duisburg-Essen as a working student and later as a research assistant.

At encoord, Benjamin’s role includes working on techno-economic models of energy systems (mostly the power system) focused on long-term investment models. In parallel, he is also pursuing his PhD where he works on applying these models to handle the deep uncertainty that comes with long-term planning of investments.
