Sophia Kannathasan

Sophia Kannathasan is a skilled violinist and music educator currently employed as a Violin Teacher at Dallington School since April 2024. With a diverse background in performance and administration, Sophia is also a Casual Ticket Sales Advisor at the Barbican Centre and a Steward at Wigmore Hall. As a freelance musician with Encore Musicians since August 2021, significant achievements include performances with the Chineke! Foundation and its Orchestra at prestigious venues such as the Royal Festival Hall and the BBC Proms. Previous roles include Orchestra Manager at Leeds University Union, where management and fundraising responsibilities were undertaken, and Concerts and Office Assistant at Saffron Hall Trust, aligning marketing and event goals. Academic qualifications include a BMus from Goldsmiths, University of London, and a BA in Music from the University of Leeds, alongside early education at Woodford County High School for Girls and Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
