Shana Sumpter

Shana Sumpter, MSIA, CISSP, currently serves as the Cyber Security Manager at Encoura since October 2021, bringing extensive experience in information security and IT risk management from prior roles such as Director of Information Security at the University of Richmond and IT Risk Manager at the Virginia Department of Taxation. With a strong technical background, Shana has held various positions, including Senior Information Security Analyst with the Virginia Community College System and IA Analyst at the Defense Commissary Agency. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Information Assurance from Norwich University and a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from Virginia Commonwealth University. Shana's career began in the U.S. Navy as an Avionics Technician, followed by roles in technical support and engineering.
