Makoto Takano

Makoto Takano is a prominent figure in the Japanese venture capital and business landscape, currently serving as a Japan board member and representative director of Endeavor Japan since January 2017. Makoto also holds the position of Senior Managing Director at the Japan Venture Capital Association and has been the founder and CEO of D4V (Design for Ventures) since December 2016. Additionally, Makoto serves as a board member for GHV (Green House Ventures) and has made significant contributions as the founder, CEO, and editor-in-chief of Forbes JAPAN since June 2014. With extensive experience as the CEO of MT partners K.K. since July 2007, Makoto's previous roles include board member positions at UWC ISAK Japan and the Nippon Financial Association, as well as serving as an international board member for Human Rights Watch. Makoto's early career includes significant tenure at PIMCO as Managing Director and head of PIMCO Japan from October 2001 to June 2014. Educationally, Makoto holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science from Waseda University, completed between 1981 and 1987.
