Joshua Yu has extensive experience as a Unity3D Developer, with their most recent role being Senior Unity3D Developer at Enduvo starting in October 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Holochip Corporation from July 2018 to October 2022, where they took over the creation of the game Holochess and optimized it for the LeiaLoft Store and Leia's LumePad. Joshua also developed a demo for the Variable Accommodation Head Mounted Display (VAHMD) in collaboration with the hardware team.
Before that, Joshua worked at BYTON as a Unity Developer from November 2017 to July 2018, where they were responsible for architecting and integrating an asset pipeline between the software and design teams. Joshua also created and deployed an infotainment demonstration for the Byton concept show runner at CES.
From December 2015 to November 2017, Joshua worked at Funwall Inc. as a Unity3D developer. Joshua transformed two third-party apps into FunWall experiences by creating multiplayer modes and released two mobile titles, GemJump and #Blitz. Joshua also led the prototyping phases for gaming experiences and contributed to the FunWall leaderboard environment.
Joshua's earlier experience includes working as a Unity3D Developer at Fuel Industries from September 2013 to December 2015, at backCODE from December 2012 to January 2013, and at Sabertooth Interactive LLC from February 2012 to October 2012. At Sabertooth Interactive, they released four mobile titles using Unity3D within a six-month period, managed the QA pipeline, and collaborated with the lead programmer to implement gameplay functionality.
Outside of their Unity development roles, Joshua also worked as a Dancer/Choreographer at Culture Shock Los Angeles, a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching at-risk youth through Hip Hop dance and culture. Joshua held this role from 2005 to 2012.
Joshua Yu attended The Art Institute of California-Los Angeles from 2009 to 2012, where they studied game programming. Prior to that, they attended El Camino College from 2005 to 2008. Joshua also obtained a certification in "Visual Effects for Games in Unity - Beginner To Intermediate" from Udemy in October 2019.
