Andrew R. George has accumulated extensive work experience in various engineering roles.
Starting in 2015, they worked as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Zarpac Inc., where they designed parts and issued drawings for the construction of a robotic palletizing cell.
In 2016, George interned at Ford Motor Company as an Engineering Intern, where they decreased the paint department's mean time to repair (MTTR) by linking spare parts to equipment in the parts database. Andrew R. also performed a cost analysis on production materials and created an optimized purchasing schedule.
George then joined ProMach in 2017 as a Mechanical Engineering Intern. Here, they designed components and assemblies for custom packaging line equipment, conducted testing of a robotic case packer, and redesigned various existing equipment to improve functionality, reliability, and cost.
During their time at McMaster Engineering EcoCAR Challenge from 2018 to 2020, George served as the Propulsion System Integration Lead. Andrew R. led the team's efforts in mechanical and systems design to electrify a 2020 Chevrolet Blazer for a 12-university, North American-wide competition.
Simultaneously, George worked as a Teaching Assistant at McMaster University from 2017 to 2020. Andrew R. managed multiple tutorial sections, advised on design for manufacturing and assembly, taught technical drawing conventions, and provided guidance on Autodesk Inventor and Fusion 360.
In 2020, George joined JING-JIN ELECTRIC NORTH AMERICA LLC as a Systems Engineer. Andrew R. assisted in managing the Design Verification Plan and Report document, sized Electric Drive Modules for potential customers' vehicle applications, and led weekly technical meetings.
Currently, George holds the position of Manager of Mechanical Design and Electric Motor Prototyping at Enedym Inc., starting in 2022. Andrew R.'sresponsibilities involve implementing design for manufacturing and assembly improvements to prototypes, managing sourcing and build timelines for low volume prototypes, and overseeing the rapid manufacturing facility for low volume production.
Andrew R. George completed their Master of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from McMaster University, from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they pursued their Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Mechanical Engineering, at McMaster University from 2014 to 2018.
