Bruno Riga is Head of the Central America area of Enel Global Power Generation , Enel's business line that deals with the generation of energy from conventional and renewable sources. It manages the operation of commercial activities, ensures the implementation of global strategic guidelines, coordinates the development of management objectives regarding safety, the environment, quality and costs and timescales.
His professional career at Enel began in 2001, within the Research Division, working as an engineer in charge of modeling an innovative project to define a fault diagnosis methodology in combined cycle gas turbines. Following this experience, he worked on a TQM project carried out with "lean" techniques to obtain the highest levels of efficiency in the industrial processes of various power plants (Fusina, Brindisi, Vittorio Veneto, La Casella, Bastardo, ect.).
Subsequently, Riga occupied the role of Maintenance Manager and later, Operational Manager of the Rossano unit. The next step led him to Bari, Piombino and Livorno in the role of Plant Manager. Until 2012 he directed the planning and monitoring office of the Italian electricity generation plants, as well as the dispatching office of the hydroelectric plants, while in 2013 he began his international experience working for Endesa as Director of the As Pontes plant to which he was followed by the appointment as Head of the Electricity Generation Division in Colombia and General Manager of Enel Emgesa.
Additionally, Riga has served on various committees (VGB Power Tech, Colombian Large Dams and Tracery Committee) and is currently a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
Bruno Riga graduated in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Pisa and in his spare time he loves collecting vintage engineering and mathematics books, as well as vintage maps of the countries he visited.
