Salvatore Bernabei

CEO at Enel Green Power

Salvatore Bernabei is Head of the Global Power Generation Division, Enel's business line that deals with the generation of energy from renewable sources through Enel Green Power and from conventional sources. He also holds the position of Head of the Africa, Asia, and Oceania area of ​​the Enel Group.

He joined Enel in 1999 after a brief experience as a consultant at Galgano & Associati, he held the role of Logistics Manager for Enel Distribuzione and, subsequently, of Supply Chain Manager, Project Manager, and Contract Manager for geothermal and wind projects in Italy. He also worked as Project Director Assistant in the reconversion project of the Torre Valdaliga Nord plant. Subsequently, he held various positions of responsibility in Enel Green Power in the Engineering and Construction and Safety and Environment units in Iberia, Latin America, and Europe. After a parenthesis as Operations and Maintenance Manager of Renewables in Iberia, he was appointedCountry Manager of Chile and the Andean Countries for Enel Green Power and, subsequently, Head of Renewable Energies Latin America. From May 2017 to September 2020 he was the Group's Head of Global Procurement.

He graduated in Management Engineering from the University of Rome Tor Vergata with a thesis carried out at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. He holds a Master in Net Business Administration from the Politecnico di Milano and participated, in Singapore and Paris, in the International Executive Program of INSEAD and the Leadership for Energy Management Program at SDA Bocconi (Milan) and IESE (Barcelona).
