Jakob Nielsen

Jakob Nielsen has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Jakob is currently working at Energinet as the Senior Director of Strategic Planning. Prior to that, they held the position of Director of Investeringsplanlægning at the same company.

Before joining Energinet, Jakob worked at Ramboll Management Consulting in two separate roles. Jakob first served as Cheføkonom og markedschef, focusing on market leadership and project development within the field of green transition. Later, they became Cheføkonom og afdelingsleder, leading a department consisting of specialists in strategic urban development, transport, environment, energy, and water and climate adaptation.

Jakob also gained experience at Skatteministeriet, where they worked as Chief Advisor, leading projects related to the assessment of commercial properties and data collection. At COWI, they served as a Project Manager, overseeing various projects in the energy, transport, and infrastructure sectors with a focus on socio-economic analysis.

In their early career, Jakob worked at Ramboll Management Consulting as a Senior Consultant and later as a Consultant, handling socio-economic analyses and participating in projects for the Danish Ministry of Finance. Jakob also gained international experience as an Intern at the Royal Danish Embassy in London, where they primarily worked on EU policy reports and answered inquiries from Danish and English-speaking citizens.

Additionally, Jakob served as a Student at the Danish Ministry of Finance, where they conducted data processing and developed Excel models for EU budget negotiations and various analyses.

Jakob'sfirst professional role was as a Salgskonsulent at Royal Unibrew, where they worked in sales.

Jakob Nielsen received their Matematisk Student degree from Amtsgymnasiet i Paderup in 2002. Jakob then obtained a Ba.oecon degree in Economics and Business Administration from Aarhus University in 2007. Finally, they completed their Cand.polit/Msc degree in Economics and Business Administration from Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen in 2010.
