Matt Parry has over 20 years of work experience in the energy industry. Matt is currently the VP and Head of Long-Term Analysis at Energy Aspects, where they lead the long-term analysis team and develops comprehensive models, databases, forecasts, and reports across the energy spectrum. Matt is also a founding member of the Energy Transition team.

Prior to their current role, Matt worked at the International Energy Agency (IEA) as the Head of Oil Demand Analysis. There, they led the oil demand analysis and forecasting work and was responsible for improving the demand databases and establishing sectoral models. Matt also authored the oil demand sections of the Oil Market Report and the Medium Term Oil Market Report.

Before joining the IEA, Matt worked as a Senior Consultant at KBC, where they served as the lead oil demand analyst and created and maintained macroeconomic and vehicle fleet models. Matt also worked as a Macroeconomist and Lead Commodities Analyst at Moody's Economy.com, where they specialized in Europe, econometrics, and commodities.

Matt's career also includes experience at the Department of Trade & Industry (now DECC) as a Senior Economist, analyzing energy markets and forecasting, and at The Economist as the Senior Commodities Editor and Chief Energy Analyst.

Matt began their career at CRU as a Consultant and Econometrician, where they worked for several years.

Matt Parry began their education at Olchfa, where they completed their GCSE's in Maths, English, French, Biology, Art, Chemistry, and Physics from 1985 to 1990. Matt then attended Swansea College from 1990 to 1992, where they earned their A Levels with three A's in Economics, Maths, and Psychology. Matt Parry then pursued a degree in Econometrics at the University of Bristol from 1992 to 1995. Finally, they continued their education at the University of Bristol from 1995 to 1996, obtaining a Master's degree (M.Sc.) in Economics.
