William Bottiggi

Bill has been the General Manager at the Braintree Electric Light Department since 2003. He is responsible for a 115kv transmission system, town wide electrical distribution system, a 95 megawatt combined cycle power plant, two 58 megawatt simple cycle power plants and a municipal hybrid fiber optic-coax (HFC) broadband division offering high speed internet, cable television, and digital phone service.

Bill leads a team of dedicated personnel at Braintree Electric who strive to be innovative and entrepreneurial in the world of municipal government. Some of his major accomplishments at BELD include the construction of a 116 mega-watt gas turbine power plant which commenced commercial operation in 2009, the expansion and modernization of three 115kv substations, and the ongoing successful completion with Comcast and Verizon in the Broadband/Cable Television industry.

Mr. Bottiggi is a graduate from the United States Merchant Marine Academy with a B.S. in Mechanical / Marine Engineering and an M.B.A from Babson College.
