Todd Clift

Todd Clift is a staple in the Central Texas community, having served the electricity needs for countless businesses and homes since his first days as a utility lineman in the early 1980s. Todd began his career with Texas-New Mexico Power (TNMP), the local utility, for many small Texas towns, after relocating from Kentucky. While he enjoyed the hands-on work that came with his role, Todd also wanted new challenges and joined TNMP’s retail startup, First Choice Power (FCP), at the start of deregulation in Texas.

In Todd’s first role at FCP, he served legacy clients in the TNMP territory as a Customer Account Manager. He helped clients of all sizes and backgrounds to navigate the new competitive landscape and ensured that each one understood their billing and service options. As the deregulated market evolved, Todd moved into a business development role and soon helped clients in every region of the state.

When 5 was being formed, Todd was identified as a critical recruit to launch the company’s energy advisory team. From his first week on the job through today, Todd has continued providing hands-on service, education, and advice to clients about reducing and controlling costs through procurement and utility management.
