Anton De Vries

Anne (Anton) Gerrit de Vries joined Enerkem’s Board of Directors in October 2011.

Mr. de Vries has over 30 years of international executive experience from multiple organizations. His leadership in the polymers, fuels, and chemicals sector spanned manufacturing, R&D, and application development.

He led numerous departments within Basell, a Dutch company that merged with Lyondell in 2008 and became the third-largest independent chemicals company in the world. Based in the Netherlands, Mr. de Vries assumed executive roles, such as President, Basell Polyolefins Europe, and Senior Vice President, Olefins and Polyolefins, Europe, Middle East, and Asia, until he retired in 2011.

Prior to this, Mr. de Vries was responsible for strategic planning within Montell Polyolefins, a global producer of advanced polyolefins. He also dedicated over 18 years at Royal Dutch Shell, in responsibilities ranging from feedstock to end products, including starting up new facilities.

Mr. de Vries has been a member of the Board and Executive Committee of the European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC). He holds a Masters's Degree in Chemical Engineering from Delft Technical University, Netherlands.
