Wade D. Hutchings

Wade D. Hutchings has extensive experience in the energy industry, holding various leadership roles in notable companies. In their current position as Chief Operating Officer at Enerplus since 2020, they oversee the company's operations.

Prior to that, they served as Senior Vice President - Exploration & Production at Devon Energy from 2017 to 2019. In this role, they were responsible for strategic planning, technology, exploration, and subsurface functions. Wade D. also had direct oversight of business units and played a key role in cost structure transformation.

Before joining Devon Energy, Hutchings worked at Marathon Oil Corporation for over 15 years. Wade D. held the position of Regional Vice President - Mid Continent Assets from 2013 to 2017, where they managed assets and operations in Oklahoma, East Texas, North Louisiana, and Colorado.

Additionally, they served as the Executive Sponsor of the North America Diversity Team at Marathon Oil Corporation from 2013 to 2016, where they focused on fostering inclusivity and diversity.

Hutchings also held various managerial positions at Marathon Oil Corporation, including Alaska Asset Team Manager, Manager of Technical Excellence - Upstream, Planning Manager - Worldwide Exploration, Subsurface Manager - U.S. Onshore, Team Lead Angola Block 32 Exploration, and Team Lead and Geologist - Gulf of Mexico Exploration.

Throughout their career, Hutchings has demonstrated strong leadership and expertise in various aspects of the energy industry, including operations, exploration, production, and management.

Wade D. Hutchings earned an Associates degree in Geology from Dixie State University from 1991 to 1994. Wade D. then pursued a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Brigham Young University, where they studied from 1995 to 1998. Wade furthered their education by completing a Master of Science in Geology at The University of Texas at Austin, attending from 1998 to 2000.
