Karuna Ramessur B.Eng, NEBOSH, MSc, MBA, CertIOSH is an accomplished HES Specialist with extensive experience in health, environmental, and safety management across several prominent companies. Currently, Karuna serves as an HSEQ Specialist at Engen since February 2011 and has been with Chevron since June 2003 in the same HES Specialist role, focusing on operations in Mauritius and Reunion. Previous experience includes a position as SHE Coordinator at ExxonMobil from November 2001 to April 2003. Karuna holds multiple degrees, including a Master of Business Administration in Human Resources Management from the Australian Institute of Business, a Master of Science in Occupational Health and Safety Management from Loughborough University, a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Health and Safety Management from the University of Sunderland, and a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Chemical and Environmental Engineering from the University of Mauritius. Recently, Karuna completed a course on achieving Sustainable Development Goals through edX in early 2025.
