Denis Swai has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Denis started their career in 2006 as a Community Mobilization & Income Generating Project Manager at AAIDRO/CARITAS INTERNATIONAL. Here, they were responsible for community mobilization and ensuring high involvement of the community and partners in the program. Denis also acted as a liaison between the program and other implementing partners and handled fundraising and program development.

In 2007, Denis joined AMREF as a Project Manager for the Malaria Control Project. In this role, they facilitated and managed the project's activities related to designing, planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the project. Later, they took on the role of Project Manager for the Regional Safe Motherhood and Obstetric Fistula Program, where they supported AMREF Tanzania in improving maternal and newborn care practices and reducing maternal and newborn mortality rate and complications, including the prevention and repair of Fistula.

Denis then moved on to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation in 2015, where they worked as a Programme Officer/Monitoring and Evaluation. Denis provided support in managing the data management system for monitoring and reporting the Foundation's HIV and AIDS program. Denis also coordinated and supported PMTCT and pediatric HIV monitoring and evaluation, as well as the completion of regional HIV reports.

In the same year, they joined EngenderHealth as a Monitoring Evaluation and Research (ME&R Co) staff. Here, they provided technical support in planning and implementing monitoring, evaluation, and research activities for Sexual and Reproductive Health services. Denis collected data, supported training sessions for service providers, and ensured monthly updates of relevant databases.

Denis Swai's most recent work experience is with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), where they started in 2018 as a Program Analyst. In this role, they support the UN and national systems to deliver results through the UN Delivering as One (DaO) and UNFPA program and operations. Denis ensures that program priorities are central to national initiatives for promoting the socioeconomic development of the people of Tanzania, guided by the National Development Plan.

Denis Swai pursued their education from 2013 to 2015 at Mzumbe University, where they completed a Master of Science degree in Health Monitoring and Evaluation. Denis'sfield of study focused on the intersection of public health and monitoring and evaluation.
