Joël Girboux

Joël Girboux has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Joël started their career as a Marketing Copywriter and Communication Specialist at Forte in 2003. In 2004, they worked as a Technology Transfer Officer at UMONS. From 2005 to 2012, they worked at ENGIE Laborelec, initially as a Project Engineer and later as a Technology Manager, where they led teams, developed new services, and implemented organizational changes. In 2013, Joël took a sabbatical year to learn the German language and achieved a C1 level. Joël returned to ENGIE Laborelec in 2014 as an International Business Developer, responsible for developing business for power grids and industries in various countries. From 2015 to 2019, they served as the B2B Marketing Communications Manager, focusing on go-to-market strategies and thought leadership. Currently, Joël holds the position of Head of Communications at ENGIE Laborelec, where they focus on external and internal communications to drive growth for the company.

Joël Girboux has a Ph.D. in Polymer Science from the Université catholique de Louvain, which they obtained from 1999 to 2003. Before that, they earned a degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Materials Science from the same university from 1993 to 1999. Additionally, they completed an International Management Program at Vlerick Business School from 2012 to 2013. Joël has also pursued further education in various digital marketing courses, including a 3-day course in Digital Marketing at IHECS Academy in 2019, a course on the GDPR & Digital Marketing at IHECS Academy in 2018, and a course on Promotion and Website Referencing at Technofutur TIC in 2017.
