Christine Taylor Brew has extensive work experience in the field of biosciences. Christine Taylor currently holds the position of Executive Director at Engine Biosciences since June 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Sr Director of Research Biology at the same company starting from June 2018. Before joining Engine Biosciences, Christine worked at Relypsa where they held the role of Director of Research Biology from February 2016 to March 2018. Christine Taylor also served as the Associate Director of Research Biology at Relypsa from March 2015 to February 2016, where they led a cross-functional team, supervised in vitro biology group, and contributed to the identification of new programs. Christine's earlier experience includes working at Nektar Therapeutics as a Sr. Scientist I and Sr. Scientist II, where they successfully led preclinical teams, invented unique product opportunities, and played a key role in the development of anti-folate for oncology. Christine Taylor also worked as a Scientist and Associate Scientist at Nektar, where they developed and implemented assays and directed in vivo and in vitro studies. Christine began their career as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of California Berkeley from November 2001 to September 2005.
Christine Taylor Brew pursued their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, which they completed between the years 1990 and 1994. Following this, they enrolled at Cornell University, where they obtained their Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular, and Cell Biology from 1994 to 2001. Afterward, they furthered their education by completing a postdoctoral program at the University of California, Berkeley, from 2001 to 2005.
