Ian Atkins

Ian Atkins, P.E. is an experienced HVAC professional currently serving as an HVAC Technical Representative at Engineered Air since September 2023. Prior to this, Ian worked at Surna Cultivation Technologies for four years as an Application Engineer, where responsibilities included HVAC design and pricing for indoor agriculture projects and developing thermodynamic modeling spreadsheets. Ian also held positions as a Technical Estimator and Co-Founder at Optimize Your Grow LLC, contributing to climate control equipment analysis. Earlier experience includes roles as a Mechanical Engineer-in-Training, HVAC engineering consultant, and research and teaching assistant during graduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where Ian earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Biological Systems Engineering. Additional experiences include agricultural research and teaching English as a second language.
