Dr. Ron McDowall OBE currently serves as the Chief Technical Advisor for Engineering New Zealand Te Ao Rangahau, leading the AI and AGI Working Group. As an Advisory Director at EESTech Inc and the International Speaker on Post Anthropocene Engineering and Design at the Rutherford Business Institute, McDowall focuses on the impact of exponential technological advancements on industries. With extensive experience as a Director at McDowall & Associates Ltd, and prior roles as a Senior Lecturer at multiple universities including Auckland University of Technology and The University of Waikato, McDowall has a strong background in decision-making, foresighting, and engineering. Dr. McDowall's career also includes over four decades with the United Nations as a Scientist/Engineer, completing numerous missions globally. Academic qualifications include a BBS/BSc Conjoint in Physics and Electrical Engineering from Massey, Victoria, and Waikato Universities.
