Phil Caffyn is an experienced director and consultant at Utility Consultants Ltd, specializing in electricity and gas regulation and asset strategy. With a career spanning several decades in the electric power industry, Phil has held various roles since starting as an engineering cadet with the Ministry of Energy in 1984. Phil serves as the editor of "Pipes & Wires," a newsletter discussing regulatory issues in the energy sector, and as a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) practice area assessor for Engineering New Zealand. Current roles also include chairman of the Northgate Community Trust, board chair of Totara Springs Christian Centre, independent director on the CSC Buying Group New Zealand board, and senior associate at UMS Group. Phil holds multiple degrees, including an MBA from Deakin University, and has contributed to numerous charitable and professional organizations throughout the career.
