Shahina Kurien

Shahina Kurien is a seasoned professional in the field of fire protection within the nuclear industry, currently serving as Regional Technical Manager at Engineering Planning and Management, Inc. since November 2024. Kurien has held various leadership positions, including Chair and Vice Chair roles with the CSA Group for fire protection standards related to nuclear power plants. Since September 2020, Kurien has co-chaired the CNS Fire Safety & Emergency Preparedness Conference for the Nuclear Industry and has contributed significantly to the World Association of Nuclear Operators as Co-Chair of the Fire Protection Industry Working Group. With extensive experience at Bruce Power and involvement in several nuclear organizations, Kurien has expertise in maintaining essential safety frameworks such as FHA, FSSA, and CCR. Academic qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Government Engineering College, Thrissur.
