Erich Bain

Erich Bain is a Senior Staff Consultant at Engineering Systems Inc. since June 2020, specializing in the investigation of design, manufacturing, performance, and failure of polymeric and non-polymeric products for diverse industries. Prior to this role, Erich served as a Chemical Engineer at the U.S. Army Research Lab from November 2012 to May 2020, focusing on advanced protective composites and additive manufacturing. Erich also held a position as a Post-Doctoral Research Engineer, developing innovative hydrogels for medical applications. Education includes a PhD in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering from North Carolina State University and a B.S. in Chemical & Biological Engineering from The University of Alabama. Early experience includes research positions at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry and the Materials for Information Technology Center, as well as a co-op role at GE Plastics.
