Marie-Chantal Nyirahategekimana has a diverse work experience in various fields. Marie-Chantal worked as a Data analyst researcher at Howard University, where they conducted research on glycoproteins and trained graduate and post-doc students. Marie-Chantal also utilized Matlab and VBA Excel software for data analysis.

As the president of the Garden Bed Design Project at Engineers Without Borders USA, Marie-Chantal used engineering principles to design and implement raised garden beds to combat food deserts in Washington, D.C. Marie-Chantal utilized AutoCAD for the designs and planned future implementation of an irrigation system.

Marie-Chantal participated in a Software Engineering Bootcamp at Computer Science at Howard University. Marie-Chantal worked on computer science projects and game designs using Python, demonstrating their proficiency in using various coding concepts.

Marie-Chantal had an internship at Eli Lilly and Company's Medicine Innovation Hub, where they applied mathematics to optimize concentration and diafiltration steps during the TFF process. Marie-Chantal also utilized HPLC and Volumetric KF for sample characterization.

As an Undergraduate Researcher at Georgetown University Medical Center, Marie-Chantal performed RNA isolation and purification, along with Ficoll Separation of human peripheral blood mononuclear cells. Marie-Chantal was a Science and Engineering Undergraduate Fellow at D. E. Shaw Research. Marie-Chantal participated in a computational biochemistry and scientific visualization workshop, gaining experience in coding biochemical molecule simulations and analyzing simulation results.

Marie-Chantal also worked as an IRISE intern at the National Science Foundation, where they measured sugar viscosity for grant writing purposes in the Biomolecular Assemblies and Nanomechanics Laboratory.

Marie-Chantal Nyirahategekimana earned a Bachelor's degree from Howard University between 2020 and 2023. Marie-Chantal then pursued a Master's degree in Data Science with a focus in Machine Learning at the Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering from 2023 to 2025.
