Natália Alvarenga da Silva

Lead Researcher at EnginZyme

Natália Alvarenga da Silva has a wealth of experience in the field of organic and biological chemistry. Natália began their career in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Chemistry from UNESP- Universidade Estadual Paulista "Julio de Mesquita Filho". In 2011, they obtained their Master Of Science (M.Sc.) in Organic and Biological Chemistry from the Instituto de Química - Universidade de São Paulo, where they also served as a Lab teaching assistant at the Organic Chemistry course. In 2016, they were a Visiting PHD Student at Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz. From 2017 to 2018, Natália worked as a Chromatography Analyst at CQA - Centro de Qualidade Analítica, where they developed and validated chromatographic methods in GC-MS for the analysis of multi-residues pesticides, PAHs and PCBs in food samples, phytotherapics and raw material following ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP). From 2018 to 2020, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher at TU Delft, where they developed chemoenzymatic methodologies for hydration of α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds aiming the synthesis of enantiomerically pure alcohols, and characterized and developed methods for the analysis of organic compounds by NMR, GC-MS, GC-FID, UV-Vis and HPLC. Natália is currently a Lead Researcher at EnginZyme.

Natália Alvarenga da Silva completed a Bachelor's degree from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho. Natália then went on to pursue a Master of Science degree from USP - Universidade de São Paulo between 2011 and 2013. Following that, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD from USP - Universidade de São Paulo between 2013 and 2017. Most recently, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher in Biocatalysis and Organic Chemistry at Delft University of Technology from 2018 to 2019.
