Maria Giovanna Vilia

Associate Director, HCC & Immuno-Oncology at Engitix Therapeutics

Maria Giovanna Vilia has had a varied career in the field of science and research. Maria Giovanna began their career in 2011 as an Undergraduate Student at Imperial College London. In 2013, they completed a Master Thesis Project at Fondazione San Raffaele. From 2015 to 2016, they were a Research Fellow and Junior Research Scientist at Fondazione San Raffaele, focusing on the study of B-cell receptor (BCR) and Toll-like receptors signaling in leukemia and lymphoma. From 2016 to 2017, they were a Visiting PHD Student at UCL. Since 2019, they have been working at Engitix Therapeutics, where they have held the roles of Scientific Consultant, Research Scientist, Senior Scientist, and Associate Director, HCC & Immuno-Oncology.

Maria Giovanna Vilia obtained a Master's degree in Molecular and Cellular Medical Biotechnology from Vita-salute San Raffaele University in 2014. Maria Giovanna then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from Università degli Studi di Cagliari, which they completed in 2019. Additionally, they obtained a Master's degree in Biotecnologie Mediche Molecolari e Cellulari from Libera Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele in 2014.
