Product Owner, Drilling at Enovate Upstream

Diego is an entrepreneur and disciplined petroleum Engineer, motivated by continuous looking for new challenges that allow him to come up with new ideas and concepts; and share knowledge and experiences to deliver innovative products with his team, that generate value to for the organization and clients.

Diego joined Enovate Corp in 2020 as Sr Drilling Engineer – Product Owner. He is responsible for leading the R&D team in the development of the drilling products, and stablish a clear and trusty “listen and response” communication between the client and Enovate, to deliver a tailor made innovative solution.

With over 12 years of experience on several projects around North and Latin America, such as unconventional reservoirs, heavy oil reservoirs and offshore Deepwater wells. Diego has been involved with the complete path of the well delivery process, starting at the moment the opportunity is visualized, up to the final product is delivered to the stake holders. He built his career through several technical and management positions, on different operators and recognized services companies in the oil and gas industry. This contribute him to have a strong technical background and deep understanding on the drilling operations; as well as, a critical point of view of the customer needs, the capabilities of the services companies and the new challenges of the oil and gas business.

Diego started his career in the Oil and gas industry in Oxy Colombia, as a field-drilling engineer in La Cira Infantas field. Then he continue growing in Gran Tierra Energy Colombia, where he held several positions including Project Manager for exploratory and development wells in the Moqueta field, located in Putumayo, southern of Colombia. After five years working with Gran Tierra Energy, achieving milestones and objectives, he decided to explore new areas and started his journey in North America and Latin America.

He started at Schlumberger as Senior Drilling Engineer for a major client on West Texas Operations. Then he moved to Halliburton Energy Services, where he was able to participate in different projects across Latin America over the last five years; working on the supervision and engineering team for drilling operations on Orinoco Oil belt in Venezuela, Vaca Muerta Field in Argentina and Deep water Mexico.

Originally, from Bogota, Colombia, Diego holds a B.sc Degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Universidad de America and a Project Management Diploma from the Escuela Colombiana de Ingenieria. Fluent in both Spanish and English languages.
