Filip Van Steenkiste

Filip Van Steenkiste has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Filip started their career in 1995 at IMEC vzw as a Project Engineer, where they worked on process development for new sensors and conducted fundamental research on integrating chemical sensors in CMOS technologies. During their time at IMEC vzw, Filip also managed funded projects, wrote technical papers, and received a US patent.

In 1999, Filip moved on to Alcatel Microelectronics NV as a Test Engineer, where they focused on testing and validation. After a year, they transitioned to C-MAC MicroTechnology as a Project Engineer, working on predevelopment engineering projects.

In 2006, Filip joined Barco NV as a Product Manager, responsible for managing and launching new products. Filip held this role for five years before moving on to Esterline Technologies Corporation in 2011. At Esterline, Filip continued their role as a Product Manager, overseeing product development and management until 2018. Filip then took on the position of a Project Manager for Research & Innovation at Esterline from January to June 2019.

Most recently, in August 2019, Filip became the Head of Operations at eNovates, where they are responsible for overseeing all operational functions, including supply chain management, sales and operations planning, quality control, and support operations. Filip has successfully scaled operations in the fast-growing eMobility business, implemented strategies to improve operational efficiency and profitability, and developed relationships with key customers, suppliers, and global EMS providers.

Throughout their career, Filip has demonstrated strong leadership skills, a focus on operational excellence, and a passion for innovation and product development.

Filip Van Steenkiste has an extensive education history in various fields. Filip began their education at Sint-Hendrikscollege, although no degree or field of study is specified. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Electronic Engineering and Microelectronics at HOGENT from 1988 to 1992. Continuing their education, they attended Vrije Universiteit Brussel from 1992 to 1995, where they obtained another Master's degree, this time in Electronic Engineering and Applied Physics. Filip then furthered their studies at Grenoble INP - UGA in 1995, earning a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Physics with a specialization in non-linear optics. In 2000 and 2001, they attended KU Leuven, completing a Post-graduaat in de Bedrijfskunde (Business Administration). Lastly, in 2014, Filip Van Steenkiste pursued a degree in Strategic B2B Marketing at Vlerick Business School.
