James Gershater has extensive work experience in software engineering. James started their career at IBM in 1982, working as a programmer for the Field Engineering Division. James developed and maintained mainframe applications using the PL/I programming language. In 1995, they joined Litton TASC as a software engineer, where they worked on the Battle Lab Reconfigurable Simulator Initiative for the US Army. James was responsible for designing and coding the EEOSA CSC. From 1997 to 2007, they worked at Boeing as a Software Engineer, where they designed and built a 3D modeling application for Space Shuttle thermal tiles using Java. James then joined Raytheon in 2007 as a Principal Software Engineer, where they designed and built software for controlling constructive simulation using Java and C++. Since 2015, they have been working at ENSCO, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer. James is responsible for requirements analysis, design, and code/unit test for the Space Launch System (SLS) Common Services (CMS) using both C++ and Java. James is also involved in the full life-cycle development, including UML preparation and formal SQT support. James has developed formal test procedures and provides execution and support during SQT.
James Gershater has a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Science from the University of Central Florida, which they obtained from 1993 to 1998. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science from the same university between 1978 and 1982.
